Privacy
Your travels stay on your device. There are no accounts, no analytics and no cookies.
Who runs this
A free, non-commercial hobby project. Questions go to hello@cadel.app.
What’s saved on your device
The countries you mark, your trips, places, notes and settings are kept in your browser’s local storage. Photos are resized on your device and kept in its built-in database (IndexedDB). None of it is sent to us, and we can’t see it.
This storage is strictly necessary for the app to work, so it needs no consent under the EU ePrivacy rules (in Czechia, Section 89(3) of Act No. 127/2005 Coll.). There are no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and nothing loads from third parties: the typeface and code are served from this site.
What leaves your device
Nothing, unless you send it. A story video or backup file goes only where you share or save it. The Ko-fi link in About opens ko-fi.com, which has its own privacy policy; nothing is shared with Ko-fi unless you open it.
When the site loads, the hosting provider keeps standard access logs (IP address, time, page, browser) to keep the site secure and running. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in running the site securely (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Logs are kept only as long as that requires, under the provider’s retention settings, and the provider processes them for us under a data processing agreement. If it handles them outside the EU, the transfer relies on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. There is no profiling or automated decision-making.
Your rights
There’s nothing to request: no data about you is kept here, and the hosting logs are cleared by the provider on its own. The GDPR still gives you the right to access, correct or erase personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable form. You can also complain to a data protection authority; in Czechia that’s the Office for Personal Data Protection.
Deleting your data
Your data is on your device, so you control it. Clear this site’s data in your browser settings, or remove the app from your home screen. There’s no copy on a server, so a backup file is the only way to bring it back later.
